picture day at school

Hadlea had school pictures this week at school. She also had to return her 'All About Me' poster for her classroom. We worked on his poster for.ev.er! She is the slowest color-er in the history of the world.. so I started helping, but she loved it and we really had fun. Kase even sat at the table with us and she told him all of the colors. I have a feeling Kason will not talk until he is like 5... our little motor mouth will never let him get in a word!

we have really had to watch hadlea lately. she is wanting to 'help' ALOT more! like when he wakes up, she will always beat us to his room and crawl in his crib. thankfully so far, she just wants to get in and snuggle him! praying she doesn't try to help him out anytime soon!

Gigi and I took Had to Big Splash. I remember taking Riley here several times when he was little. Here they are about the same age... he was 4.

hadlea's imagination is out of control. this is Heather (as she calls herself these days) and her dog Berkley (the stuffed dog by her side) and her 6 babies driving in her car to Happle City to pick apples. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried!

back to school (daycare) night! they had meet the teacher, but H is staying in the same class so we just went to visit!

girls night out! hadlea LOVED this! she kept saying, I LOVE girls night! I love girls trips! I sure cannot wait for super fun weekend girls trips when she is older!

happy birthday aunt shannan

We got a visit from some of our favorite people....  Hadlea's Godmother and my very best friend! They made their way through Oklahoma visiting family and were sweet enough to include us! They stopped in for one night, and it just happened to fall on Shannan's birthday. Hadlea and I made the executive decision to throw Shan a party! Had insisted on a cookie cake... I called and ordered balloons... which ended up being really funny! I called the store and said I needed a bouquet of balloons for a girl. The lady asked how old and I said '30' but I wanted them pink and purple and girly since it was from a 3 year told... Shannan ended up with princess balloons! But of course Hadlea was proud of them, and it made it even that much more special! :-)

 

Happy Birthday Aunt Shannan! We love you!

 

 

And K got in ALOT of girly hugs, kisses and cartoons! KK was LOVING Kason!

Kason Havoc {4 months}

I have a 4 month old. a FOUR MONTH OLD. I really have no idea how this is even possible! So this will just be your monthly spill on how I cannot believe I have a 4 month old. I cannot believe I have an almost 4 YEAR old either... but this is Kason's post... so we won't talk about big sis being 4 months from turning 4. I seriously think I might cry. I wonder if it is too late to talk Justin into another baby?! He says NO! Like very adamantly, NO! Maybe when they are both in school??!! ...and this is coming from someone that SWORE she would NEVER have more than two kids! But Kason is just soooooo good! I am not sure how we lucked out with two perfectly healthy, perfectly happy babies... and pretty good sleepers! Maybe Justin is right... maybe we shouldn't test our limits!

But just think... what would another one of these look like!?

It just couldn't get much cuter! 

 

Four Month Stats:

Weight: 13 lbs 14 ozs - 27% (7.9 lbs at birth)
Length: 26 1/4 in - 89% (21 in at birth)
Head circumference: 17 in - 89% (14 in at birth)

 

• He is a GREAT baby! Only crying when he is hungry or wet... or VERY TIRED! He is a totally routine baby. Mess up that routine and you are in BIG trouble!
• He has a very routine schedule... it can vary by 30 minutes or so, but atleast I kind of know what he is wanting when he gets upset. He wakes up around 8AM, eats and is back down around 11:30-12. He sleeps about two hours and is back up to eat and back down around 2. He will sleep about an hour and wake to eat and then back down at 6. He seems to need about a 30-45 minute cat nap in the evenings before finally going to bed around 830. He normally sleeps all night, maybe waking for a bottle around 5AM.
• He has 4 ounces of breast milk with each feeding. I am still pumping and feeding full time.
• We have started a teaspoon of cereal before bedtime! And he is loving it... started taking it on the second night like he had been doing it forever! He will scream at you in between bites! I think this is Hadlea's new favorite thing! She LOVES to help feed him!

•  He is not the greatest napper. On most days, he will take a two hour nap in the morning and a one hour nap in the afternoon. Some days, they might be 10-15 minutes. For some reason, my kids just don't care for naps!
• He is wearing Size 1 diapers
• He is wearing 3 month  and 3-6 month clothes
• He LOVES bath time. He loves to chew on a wet towel. ha!
• He HATES the car. This is totally new to us because Hadlea always loved it! We are now refusing to go anywhere that isn't absolutely necessary!
• He has started to grab at toys and take them straight to this mouth! He is doing great with his hands!
• He follows Justin, Hadlea and I's voices. If he hasn't seen one of us in a while and we walk into the room and talk, he gets SO excited!

• He LOVES his sister! I think it is so strange that he totally knows her! She can smother him to death and he still gives her the cheesiest grins!
• He has really started to notice Berkley. He will watch his every move and squeal at him when he is walking by. Berk does his best to avoid the hair pulls unless he just needs to give Kase a good lick on the face!
• He has found his voice... and likes to use it! Our house is LOUD in the evenings!
• He has started rolling over from tummy to back. He has rolled from back to tummy, but I think they are more accidents! ha!
• He smiles and kicks his feet like crazy! He is one squirmy dude! He has found his toes and is only centimeters from sucking them. Ha!
• He is doing the full belly laugh. It is the cutest thing ever.
• He has decided he HATES the paci! :-( Which makes for one SUPER sad momma! I think this is why Hadlea was always good in the car or anywhere we took her. She had a paci at all times. It is totally breaking my heart!
• He is still sleeping in his crib in his OWN room. He is still swaddled and doing great!

It seems like he is SO much bigger than her at 4 months.... and he is really wanting to set up!

Happy 4 months, Kase! You are seriously the perfect additional to our family! I know your daddy, sissy and I could not imagine our lives without you!

So someone is thinking he needs to eat ALL. DAY. LONG these days! I seriously wonder if he has a tape worm sometimes... jk. {is that even possible in babies?} But this little Buddha is hungry all of the time! I thought it was just a growth spurt... and it could be, but it has lasted for about a month now! He is eating about 4 ounces ever 2 hours. He was giving us about a 4-6 hour stretch at night, but after his 4 month appointment and visiting his doctor, I thought we would just try cereal!

 

And man did Buddha Boy bite! I still think it is so crazy that babies just have these instincts! The first night he wasn't so sure, but by night number two, he was opening his mouth and pretty much screaming at us in between bites!

we are just doing a teaspoon mixed with breast milk. but this has been enough to satisfy him for quite a while! a simple teaspoon plus 4 ounces of milk have given us 10 hours of sleep a night!!

 

 

I had to check back on hadlea's first time to eat cereal! holy cow... they look just alike!

soooo funny! It just cracks me up how much they look like each other at times!
