kason's baby shower #2

Last weekend, my SIL, cousin and a friend threw a diapers and wipes baby shower for Kason! I mean... nothing speaks love to a mother of a newborn more than boxes and boxes of diapers and wipes! It is like heaven in a box!

Had, Gigi and I before the shower!
The decorations were green and black and perfect!
My SIL made the baby/diaper cake. It was the first time I had ever seen anything like that. Adorable!
And one picture with my baby girl, nieces and nephew!
PERFECTION! <3>
Hannah, Hadlea, Riley & Kayman
with the hostesses: Jennifer, Leslie and Christy
Hadlea, Riley, Caylee and Hannah
{Caylee is my oldest niece whom I NEVER see enough!}
My friend Taran and I with our babies, Raelie and Hadlea.
All of Rusty and Nana's babies:
Hannah, Caylee, Riley, Blakely and Hadlea.
All the goodies!
Bath necessities, gifts for H, fishing shirts for daddy {given}, monogrammed goodness, a matching outfit for H and Kason from Taran, baby boy clothes AND... diapers and wipes!
Gigi and Nana with H and I!
It must of been a rough day for H and Berkley as they both slept for 3 hours once we got home!

Thanks to the hostesses for the shower... and to everyone that was able to make it. I am so thankful for so many loved ones that want to welcome our baby boy!

phone dump friday

Just in case anyone is wondering, my awesome husband is checking off things on my to do list left and right! I am starting to feel a little caught up! Now... if I can make it to Buy Buy Baby this weekend to finish the shopping for Kason's arrival... because that is alot less important than getting curtains hung! Ha! I hope to have some house update pics soon! With all of the new paint and things on the wall, it is starting to look like our home! :-)

We got a package in the mail from Auntie B for St Patty's Day!
H's favorite thing to do is check the email, so when she sees her name on the package, she is in heaven!
Saturday morning, we had maternity pictures. We followed that up with a trip to the zoo... what in the 'H' was I thinking at 9 months prego! But I survived... and after all, H didn't care about seeing the animals. Her request was: the train, carousal, jump house, dip n dots, cotton candy and a camel ride. We just checked out the animals as we went by!
Daddy even got to make the trip!
Kason and I just hung out in the sun anytime we could find a resting place!
My sleeping babies!
We got Riley and Hannah one night since they were on Spring Break! We had plans to get down the baby gear, so Riley got to help put it all together! We also all grabbed Clorox wipes and started cleaning it all. It was so fun to have Hadlea, the niece and nephew and daddy all together laughing and getting ready for Kason!
Ready for bed and taking a walk!
H slept with us one night and this is what I woke up too...
She loves to snuggle her daddy!
and this guy is loving the new bedding!
Hadlea got to stay the night with Gigi at Kayman's house!
She is so smitten with all of her cousins!
Poppa sold Hadlea's cow and sent her check!
She is dying to get it in the bank!
Smart girl!
This is how Berk and I have been listening to conference calls at work these days! We require alot of rest!
Hadlea's outfit of the day! You just never know what she will choose on some given days! ...and notice the clip on the top of her head?!
Just the perfect additional to her cowgirl boots!
We joke that Berkley is king of our house... so this was funny that he chose a king beanie baby to sleep with one night!
And today... Hadlea is in KU blue cheering on the Jayhawks for her Aunt Amanda!

H2 {37 weeks}

I am FULL TERM!
{36 weeks vs 37 weeks}

How far along: 37 weeks... 3 to go!! {or hopefully less. ALOT LESS! ...like tomorrow would be awesome!}

Net weight gain/loss: 27 pounds

Maternity clothes: All maternity! ...and I am running out of those too!

Stretch marks: I have seen a couple lines that make me SUPER nervous... but I think I seen the same with H and didn't end up with any. *fingers crossed!*

Belly button: innie

Sleep: It is either SUPER good or SUPER bad. No in between!

Baby movement: His movements are getting fewer in between, but when he decides to move, he doesn't hold anything back.

Gender: BOY! Kason Havoc!

Food cravings: Mexican, cereal, plain blueberry Eggo's, sandwiches, chocolate milk, tea and Coke icees.

Food aversions: anything that is not listed above! :)

What I miss: The days of not being incredibly tired!

Looking forward to: Meeting him... end of story! I AM READY!

Best moment this week: Getting my niece and nephew for the night and getting the baby stuff down! Riley and Justin got everything out of the attic and then everyone got some cleaning wipes and started cleaning. It was so fun to have Justin, Riley, Hannah and Hadlea to get everything ready! The kids were loving it!

Milestones per babycenter: Your baby is now considered full term, even though your due date is still three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. He weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long.

I went to my weekly doctor's appointment today. No change since last week... started dilating but nothing significant. I asked if he could give me an estimate on his weight (all of these 8 and 9 lb babies are starting to make me nervous! ha!). He felt around for a little bit and said he was small... guessing around 6lbs. So the doctor's guess is around 7-7.5 lbs at birth. Hadlea was 6.11 at birth so he didn't think it would be too far off from that. Yeah! Any guesses on a date?!

rambling...

So I wrote this like a week ago and forgot to post... so kind old, but still relevant! :-)

So my new iPhone 5 has now crashed 3 times since Christmas. After 3 trips to Apple, I finally convinced them to give me a new one. I say convinced because technically if it isn't a hardware issue, but a software issue and they can 'fix' it by doing a restore, they cannot give you a new one. However, if I have had the same issue 3 times with the software, I wouldn't technically call it fixing the issue. However, I am not an Apple Genius either...

Do you realize everything you do with your phone?! I mean... I know I am dependent on it, but I did NOT know it was brain in a little hard case! I take TONS of pictures with it... pictures of everything. But I didn't realize how much I used my calendar or how many notes I made in my notepad. When those things weren't available, I felt like I couldn't remember a thing! And prego brain sure doesn't make me feel better about myself! Holy cow my memory is AWFUL!

Since I didn't have any pics from that week, here are some things from Hadlea:

- She had her first nightmare (night terror?) last week. She woke up in a blood curdling scream. Justin and I both run in her room to find her shaking and super sweaty. Supposedly, a PENGUIN (yes, you read that right!) was in her room and trying to get her in her bed. It was the saddest thing EVER! She still talks about it. We try to tell her they live at the zoo and couldn't make it all of the way to our house. She isn't buying it!

- She fell off of the kitchen counter. I am still not sure how she landed on your bottom, but she did. I then worried for days that she hurt her tailbone, but she never gave me a reason to believe that. But we don't have to worry about her crawling on the cabinet anymore!

- She has started breastfeeding her babies after watching her Aunt Amanda. I thought her dad might die the first time he seen it. Oh... the things she will be sharing at school once Kason gets here!

- She wants a tattoo. One on her back and the other on her arm... Hopefully that goes away before she turns 18!

- She still wants to bring home a baby sister. She says she has a baby girl in her belly and I have a baby boy in mine. So we will be bringing home two babies. OR... she says Alan and Amanda can have Kason and we will take Kayman. Good thing the girl isn't picky... she just knows what she wants! :)

- She is in to saying who IS and ISN'T her best friend. We have had SEVERAL talks over this. I thought this stuff started in middle school... not the 3 year old room at daycare! She once said to me, "Hand me your pop!". I said, "No!". She said, "I will be your best friend if you do. I not be your best friend if you not give me a drink!." ...Needless to say, she didn't get a drink but got a long discussion on friends instead!

- She says: spicy for icee and shadow for deodorant. She sings "skip to the MOO my darlin."

- She is a total motor mouth! I sometimes wonder how she learns anything at school... you cannot hear when you are talking all of the time!

Oh... and the final thing... she is NOT sleeping! I am not sure what her deal is. But she wakes 3-5 times per night crying for Justin and I. But she only wants me to lay with her. Talk about awesome timing! Ugh!! I think I am going to have to go back to tough love and let her cry it out! Although, it makes me feel SOOO guilty just typing that. I know her world is about to be rocked! I know our daily one-on-one time is about over. Part of that makes me super excited because I CANNOT wait to see her with her baby brother. She is going to be one AWESOME big sister. But on the other hand, it breaks my heart to think any of this will upset her. I never want her to feel left out or like we cannot help her in a given instant because we are tending to Kason. I know we will just have to take it one day at a time. She will be fine. I never give Hadlea enough credit. She adjusts fine to almost anything. I always start worrying WAY in advance, and she always proves me wrong by doing great. I am praying for the same situation!

And now currently....

I have a list of 16 things I want Justin to do before Kason arrives. And most of them would have been done had his work schedule not gone completely crazy! He got called in Sunday morning at 6AM and probably hasn't been home a total of 12 hours since. Sure... the money is awesome, but they are going to give me a nervous breakdown if these things don't get done... and NO... not a one of them will help with Kason's arrival! Ha! :-)

I guess we are just taking it one day at a time for ourselves. I also think the 'unknown' arrival time is starting to get to me too. Your first baby you are just excited, but when you have another, you want to have her arrangements set up and make sure he knows what is going on... I just want her to be happy.

phone dump friday

my sweet boy and I taking a nap one night when Hadlea was gone. I get asked often if I will still love Berkley like I do (and take him with me everywhere) when Kason gets here. And I sure hope I do... he was my first baby and always will be!
we had our weekly Wednesday night with Aunt Leslie, Riley and Hannah

silly babies!
My 12 hour a night sleeper has turned into a VERY crappy sleeper... but after sleeping two straight nights in her own bed, we went for donuts!
Hadlea stayed home with me one day while I worked. She made a 'camp out' in my floor and played with her babies and Berkley.
I took off Friday afternoon to spend with H. She has been asking to go to the library for days (she watches too much Barney). We went and read several books. She loved it!
She also did 'homework' and made some pictures for friends. She then wanted to mail them so we did.
She totally cracks me up with her ideas!

Justin went on a 5 day guys vacation to fish in Alabama and watch Fred in his tournament.
No doubt he had a great time!
While daddy's away, the girls will sleep together!
First night, we had popcorn and Barney in bed!
We did some shopping with Riley and Nana!
More sleeping with momma and Berk!
Hadlea got out all of her animals and played 'zoo'. We play zoo alot. Each room in our house has a different animal. We stand at the door of the room and admire the monkeys, tigers, elephants, etc. Then the room will gain a random dog (Berkley) and we try to figure out how the random dog got in the zoo. She seriously is the funniest kid!
Our cousins from Kansas came by the house for a visit and then we met Alan, Amanda and Kayman for lunch!
Hadlea, Maddie and Kayman
Cousins!
We made a welcome home sign and brownies for daddy!
We had the last two rooms in our house painted, one being my office. I had to work at the kitchen table. Berkley spends about 70% of the time sitting in my lap. He is a total momma's boy. I moved Hadlea's high chair over by me and put a blanket in it. He slept that way most of the day.
We started a sticker chart for Hadlea's sleeping. We added feeding Berkley, Bathtime, Brushing Teeth and Picking up Toys. Why in THE WORLD did I not know how powerful a little Hello Kitty sticker was?! Our chart is almost full!! (obviously not pictured!)
Berk was cracking me up one night in bed. He was asleep with his head up... how many of your dogs have a blanky they sleep with? He doesn't go far without his blanky if he is going to sleep!
It has been SO nice here! Perfect spring weather. We went on a scooter ride to the pond...
throwing rocks with daddy! She is still our little rock hoarder!
