week with poppa and gigi

The Sunday of Kason's baby shower in my hometown, I left H for an ENTIRE week with Poppa and Gigi. I had previously asked my mom to watch Hadlea this past weekend when the Bassmaster Classic was in town. We had several friends coming into town for the event and we knew we would be gone alot during the day and have late evenings, so I didn't want to drag her through it all. Because we were in Medford the weekend before, Poppa and Gigi just asked to keep her. My first response was NO WAY! But of course, they kept after me. The main excuse being that Poppa had a cattle sale and wanted to take H... something he has wanted to take her to since she was born... so how could I really say NO to that?!

And on Sunday, I left her... lots and lots of pregnancy related/hormonal tears were shed the entire drive home! Ugh!

But I got LOTS and LOTS of pictures... and we FaceTimed every night. Plus, I had an entire list of things Justin and I could get done while she was gone. We got done almost none of it! :-)
They spent alot of time at the farm, H went to work with Gigi one day for a little bit, they went to get manis and pedis (something my dad has NEVER taken me to do!), and then it snowed. ALOT! She got to build her first snowman and go sledding, and she has talked about both every day since being back.

I also got hilarious videos!
ABCs

Itsy Bitsy Spider

And then it snowed. After that, I don't think they got her to do anything else... unless it was outside!
I get this video and think, "Poor Poppa. He is going to die!".

And then I get this video and think I am going to die!
Her daddy couldn't watch!
But she LOVED it!

Thanks Poppa and Gigi for taking such great care of our girl. She has talked about her stay with you all non-stop. I know she made memories she will never forget!

Baby H2 {34 weeks}

{33 weeks  vs  34 weeks}
How far along: 34 weeks... 6 to go!!

Net weight gain/loss: 22 pounds

Maternity clothes: All maternity!

Stretch marks: none. and I am going through the lotion like crazy! :-)

Belly button: innie

Sleep: Just hit and miss!

Baby movement: Always! I am not sure when he really sleeps?!

Gender: BOY! Kason Havoc!

Food cravings: Mexican, cereal, plain blueberry Eggo's, sandwiches, chocolate milk, tea and Coke icees.

Food aversions: anything that is not listed above! :)

What I miss: The days of not being incredibly tired!

Looking forward to: Finishing his room! His canvas for above his bed came in along with everything else... I cannot wait to reveal it! This is the same room I wanted to do for H when I 'thought' she was a boy! I have waited a long time to do this! Ha!

I guess I won't leave you without a sneak peek! :-)

Best moment this week: Getting in all of the fun stuff for his room!!

Milestones per babycenter: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers – which he'll need to regulate his body temperature once he's born – are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

I went to my doctor's appointment today and my sugar count was SUPER high. They had thought I had went for my glucose test, which I hadn't. I have to go back Friday morning for a blood test when I have been able to fast. It will either be nothing or the onset of pregnancy induced diabetes! Ugh! I guess we will see what they say?!

Valentines Day

We celebrated Valentine's a day early since we had the visitation for Justin's cousin on Valentine's Day.

I tried to think of something that Hadlea loved but wasn't candy this year... Last year I did the goldfish butterflies, which she LOVED! We often play with glow sticks.... mostly putting them in her bath water and turning out the lights. She laughs and plays forever! Target had these tubes of 10 glow bracelets in their $1 bin so we got them and then I made the tags, "Valentine... You make my Heart Glow!". She was super proud of them.... and they weren't candy.... so I was proud too! :-)
Thankfully this year, alot of the parents went the non-candy route which meant I didn't have to throw anything away! Ha!

The night before Valentine's Day was also Ash Wednesday so we also had church. H and I played a little bit while daddy got ready....
Once we got home, we all opened presents!
You can see a little of Hadlea's ashes on her head... she just thought they were so funny she couldn't stop touching them!
She was so excited to take her friends their gifts that morning!
And being the honest wife I am, I sent this to Justin....

Valentine's was a great day. The evening was a little rougher having to see most of Justin's family for the first time since Sara's death. They are some very strong people... just how Sara would want them to be.

Kason's Baby Shower

This past weekend, Hadlea and I {Justin had to work a boat and tackle show $$} went to my parents as some friends and family were throwing us a baby shower for Kason! And if I have said it once, I have said it a million times, people from my home town really are THE BEST people EVER! People I haven't seen or talked to since living there in high school still send gifts. They just really are the most thoughtful people ever!

The decorations were lime green and black to match his nursery! And those cupcakes... from my favorite bakery... YUM!
H was right in the middle of opening gifts! She loved holdings things up to show everyone. And we would even hear, "Awe. Isn't that cute!?", about every other gift! We also heard, "Hey, Gigi, take my picture", every other outfit too! That girl is seriously funny!
Another thing to love about my home town people, they remember baby #1! Hadlea was given a few gifts too. Like I said... sweetest, most thoughtful people EVER!
And I will always take any time I can get with old friends. Seriously love these girls.
And the hostesses totally out did themselves on everything!
Even Mola made an appearance. But I guess she wouldn't miss her brothers baby shower! :-)
Best friends and our babies!
Hopefully these girls grow up to be the best of friends too!
The pregos!
What is a baby shower without a few others being pregnant?! These are always my favorite pics!
Cousin Sherry 11 weeks. Cousin Amanda 34 weeks. Me 33 weeks.
{We currently have 5 babies coming in our family. The 3 of us, plus my cousins Shawna and Kelsey. And that doesn't count Kayman or Emma that were just born!}
These are what I made for hostess gifts... all from Target!
{initial coffee cup. chevron fridge notepad. kitchen towel.}
It has been strange to go through so much boy stuff!
Seeing all of the blue... and no bows... will really get ya! Ha!

Thanks to everyone that helped, came or sent gifts! It was such a great time!

happy valentine's day

Happy Valentine's Day!

There are days I am reminded that I seriously need water proof mascara! This whole week has been that reminder! I'm not sure if it is the tragedy in Justin's family, being prego or just the thoughts that Valentine's Day brings. But I am reminded this week just how perfect my life is. I am reminded that I am truly blessed beyond belief. I am just never sure why God chose to give me such a perfect life and others have to endure daily suffering. I know I never blog much about the 'bad' things in my life, and frankly, it is because I have NOTHING bad... sure I get upset. sure I have the daily struggles of raising a stubborn, sassy little mess, sure Hadlea and Justin stress me out to no end some days. But honestly, I am thankful for those things. I would much rather have those things than nothing at all.

I LOVE and am so thankful this child wakes me up at 4AM some mornings because she wants to get in bed with me. Or she just wants to tell me she got up and went to the bathroom on her own. Or she just wants a drink of water. Some mornings, I roll my eyes because I haven't slept well. Or I know I will have trouble going back to sleep. But lately, I have been reminded that I need to enjoy those times.  So I either put her in bed with us or crawl in her bed and snuggle. There is NOTHING better than getting a pat night, night from your 3 year old!
And I need to continue to remind myself of these things as I cannot believe how fast time is flying.
Where is by BABY?!

I LOVE and am thankful for this guy who annoys me on a daily basis... whether it be all of his fishing talk, or thoughts about his next fishing purchase, or next fishing trip. I know he just wants to share his passion with me. Whether it be the 15 times he calls me a day when he has a slow day at work and I am SUPER busy. I remind myself that he is just thinking of me and wants to check in. I have never doubted Justin's love for me and that is a really great feeling. He truly is my very best friend... {even though I sometimes want to slap him a few 100 times!}

I LOVE this guy who stole my heart the moment we picked him up. He is a momma's boy through and through. You get too close to me when I am holding him, and you might lose a finger! In my eyes, he has never done wrong and never will! Ha! {Justin will totally disagree here. But Berk gets bonus points because he doesn't talk back!}

And I LOVE this boy... he was a total surprise, and I spend most of my day wondering what he will look like, act like... whether he will be stubborn like his big sister... whether he will be an awesome sleeper like his big sister. No matter how he turns out, we cannot wait for him to join our family! We are all so ready to meet him!

I LOVE my family and friends.
I know God only gave me the best.

Baby H2 {32 weeks}

{I think I have officially 'popped'. I am feeling large!}

How far along: 32 weeks... single digit weeks left! ...8 to go!!

Net weight gain/loss: 21 pounds

Maternity clothes: All maternity!

Stretch marks: none. and I am going through the lotion like crazy! :-)

Belly button: innie

Sleep: The last few nights have been pretty good! {knock on wood}

Looking forward to: Finishing up his room! The bedding is done and on. His curtains are in. His piece for above his bed in being shipped. Just need to find those finishing touches!

Best moment this week: This has been a rough week with the death of Justin's cousin. I think being prego, the extra worries and stress for their family is just enough. I am just wore out this week!

Milestones per babycenter: By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb.

rip sara

You ever have those days where within a couple of hours of being awake, you just want to go back to bed and start the day over?! Yesterday was one of those days.

I know if Justin calls my phone before 830 AM, it will NOT be a good day. He has probably called me before 830 AM 3 times in the last 5 years... 2 were wrecks and 1 his truck broke down.

Yesterday, my phone rang around 820. Justin has a certain ring so I knew it was him. I was in Hadlea's room dressing her and just started sprinting to my phone. I knew it wasn't good. {probably like the visual you have of a 32 week prego running through a house. just not good!}

He called to say his cousin, Sara, had been in a car wreck and didn't survive. Her 5 year old daughter, Mahiya, was with her, but she was fine.

You never have words to say to people in these situations. I never know what to say, do or think. I get sad, then I get angry... and sometimes I just get pissed. I know we never question God's plan. After all, it is His plan. At the end of the day, I am just thankful I knew Sara. She was THE sweetest girl EVER! She always thought of everyone else.
She LOVED Chase and Mahiya.
Sara became a mom very young, but that didn't stop her from being the best mom ever! I was always so proud of her... and I am so thankful I had the chance to tell her one time. I honestly was so proud of the person she became... the mom she became.
RIP sweet girl.
You were the light of your family's life.
You always held them together.

phone dump friday

Just another week of dumping my randomness into one post! :-)

We made a deal with Hadlea that if she sleeps all week in her own bed, she can sleep Friday nights with us. Call it a reward or bribery, but it totally works! She goes straight to bed on her own every night after we read books. It is just easy... plus, I don't mind one night of going to bed early and getting lots of snuggles! And she's obviously crazy happy! Ha!
We ran errands this past Saturday and she said Mola {her baby} needed rest time and snuggles!
We had our friends over for dinner one night. They live in our neighborhood and we have been taking turns cooking dinner for each other. It sure has been nice!
We got some glow sticks on a Tarjay run and put them in the bath one night!
Berkley is LOVING Hadlea's new bedspread. I find him in there pretty often.
silly sister is just full of personality these days!
we went to a bday party for our friend Trevin at the bounce barn! He turned 4!
Trevin's momma is my friend, Taran, who can pretty much make anything! And her mom made this cake. All editable. Some families just shouldn't get all of the talent! Ha!
How I let Hadlea finish watching the superbowl... {because I didn't want to miss any to put her in bed!}
We have had a few nice days so we went on walks and made stops at the pond.
just more daily personality. I am afraid I will never get a good smile out of her again!
Wednesday nights my SIL, niece and nephew come down to visit before my niece has gymnastics. Then Riley gets to stay with us while they are gone. The past few times it has been CFA then Cherry Berry! And this time we got our cousin Maddy too!
We built cakes with candles last night... you know... because that is what most kids choose to make over forts and castles... The pink on the top is the candle, which we had to find a pretend lighter to light... {she even does the pretend sound of lighting the lighter}. We ALL had to sing Happy Birthday to Hadlea before blowing it out and eating fake cake! Just another night in our house! Ha!
And here she is running off to school this morning...
I swear she ages a good 6 months every night!
Where is my baby girl?!
{and yes, those are rain boots. and no, it is not raining.}

baby boy

We got to see baby Kason this morning! My dr doesn't usually do more than one ultrasound, but this one was to check the placenta previa that they found in my first u/s. He had moved up and was doing great! No c-section!!

He was weighing 3lb 11 oz... 35%!

I asked all of the necessary mom questions during the u/s... does he still have two hands/10 fingers, 2 feet/10 toes and does he have a cleft lip? Like I said... all of the normal stuff! Ha! I thought Justin was going to crawl under his chair! But he should have been prepared... I did the same with Hadlea! :-)

Now... we just wait for him to make his appearance! I personally think he will come before April 10 {due date}, but if I had a choice, I would choose April 12, my younger brother's birthday!  ...9 weeks to go!

Baby H2 {31 weeks}

{we had our entire house painted. changed from tan to gray. LOVE!! what a difference!}

How far along: 31 weeks... single digit weeks left! ...9 to go!!

Net weight gain/loss: 20 pounds {eek! not sure how I feel about this!}

Maternity clothes: All maternity!

Stretch marks: none. and I am going through the lotion like crazy! :-)

Belly button: innie

Sleep: I give up! Since H and I have been sick, I haven't got back into a really good sleep routine. I feel like I sleep in 3 hour increments.

Looking forward to: Finishing up his room! The bedding is done. His curtains are in. His piece for above his bed in being made. Just need to find those finishing touches!

Best moment this week: Gaining another niece! I am still so smitten by her! It totally gave me baby fever! I cannot wait to meet our little man!
Milestones per babycenter: This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
