Baby H2 {25 weeks}

15 weeks to go. It seems like an eternity, but I know it will go so fast!

Here is a side by side of Hadlea vs Baby Boy... I feel like I am about the same size, he just seems so much lower than Hadlea did. His kicks are so low... all below the belly button.
{and checkout Hadlea's expression. these are the pictures we are getting these days!}

How far along: 25 weeks

Net weight gain/loss: 15 pounds

Maternity clothes: All maternity!

Stretch marks: none. and I am going through the lotion like crazy! :-)

Belly button: innie

Sleep: Just hit and miss. Some nights I never wake up. Some nights I wonder if I ever really went to sleep!

Baby movement: He is quite the mover!

Gender: BOY!

Food cravings: Mexican, cereal, plain blueberry Eggo's, sandwiches, chocolate milk, tea and Coke icees.

Food aversions: anything that is not listed above! :)

What I miss: The days of not being incredibly tired!

Looking forward to: deciding on a name! Ugh. Why does it have to be so difficult for my husband to just agree with me?! ;-) We both have a name and neither of us are budging... who will give in first?!

Best moment this week: Christmas for sure! We were all TOTALLY spoiled this year... including baby boy!

Milestones per babycenter: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

A special visitor...

Every Christmas Eve since Hadlea was born, we have had a special visit from Santa. We are VERY lucky to have a 'Santa' in the family.
My dad Santa has came around our house since I was very young. I don't have too many Christmas memories without seeing Santa. Although looking back, I wonder why we didn't think it was weird that Santa was in our Christmas pictures but my dad wasn't?! ;-) I remember finding 'THE' suit in my mom's closet one year, and they told me my dad was 'special' and was a helper. I bought it for a while. Then, dad told me I could be a helper too... and I became his elf. Going to different events with him. Christmas time has always been such a special time getting to see my dad make other families Christmas' so special! We used to go from house to house on Christmas Eve doing visits and dropping off presents. Some of the houses he would do in the middle of the night... even purposely making enough noise to wake up the kids so they would find him delivering the presents! Oh the stories he has...  He is one AWESOME Santa!

And just a little reminiscing of Hadlea's last few years of visits from him....

School Christmas Program 2012

Last week we had Hadlea's daycare/school Christmas Program. And what a difference a year makes...

in looks... {2011 vs 2012}

... and performance! In 2011, she pretty much sat on her teachers lap and didn't move a muscle! This year, she actually stood up and moved her mouth a little! Oh my word... those kids were FUNNY!
and guess who showed up again?!
I am VERY thankful that Hadlea has never been deathly afraid of Santa!
And Gigi was there too, but we missed a picture with her.
So here they are in 2011! :-)
And Hadlea and Santa in 2011. I just cannot get over how grown up she looks!

Baby H2 {24 weeks}

How far along: 24 weeks

Net weight gain/loss: 14 pounds

Looking forward to: Christmas! I know that isn't really prego related, but I cannot wait to spend time with all of our families!

Best moment this week: I am off for two weeks with Hadlea home. I could definitely get used to being a stay at home mom! I am so enjoying having her all to myself.

Milestones per babycenter: Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

EC

Most people know my LOVE for Eric Church. You would be VERY surprised at the number of texts I get a week regarding him... someone heard something about him, someone heard him on the radio and thought of me, even my dad seen him on tv and called to tell me he was on!

So.... when he came to town, you can ensure everyone was calling me asking if we were going. And of course, we were! We got 16 tickets. 12 of them came from my brother and they were THE BEST SEATS EVER!

I kind of questioned going with a large group because a large group means large amounts of alcohol. And being prego just doesn't make that sound really appealing, however, our friends are AWESOME! And it was the best concert to date!
now only if he came like... monthly! :-)

Hadlea turns 3! {birthday morning & friends party}

Hadlea's birthday morning started off with balloons and presents!
And I can guarantee that her best gift has been her new iPad Mini! Now, before anyone goes rolling their eyes at me, I can honestly say I had nothing to do with this! It came from none other than her Auntie B! {my mom's sister!} Obviously we are all spoiled by the gifts we receive from Aunt Becky! She is THE best!

After church and lunch, we headed to Hadlea's birthday party with her friends! We had it at a motel here in town that has an indoor kids pool area! The kids LOVED it!
Then it was pizza, cupcakes and presents!
Hadlea, Kate and Ady taking everything to the car! :-)
I think it is safe to say that this was Hadlea's best birthday to date! And same for momma too... all we had to do was show up with cupcakes. The motel provided everything else! Thanks to all that were able to make it. We kept it just close friends and family, and it was perfect!

Baby H2 {23 weeks}

How far along: 23 weeks

Net weight gain/loss: 13 pounds

Looking forward to: Christmas! I know that isn't really prego related, but I cannot wait to spend time with all of our families!

Best moment this week: Getting to hear his heartbeat at my doctor's appointment today! We discussed the placenta previa, and they think it is just a mild case. He sees no reason why the baby wouldn't start moving up soon. We will check again in February!

Milestones: He is weighing over a pound and is approximately 11 inches long. He moves ALL of the time. He has even woke me up a few times at night with kicks. I was seriously Googling at 4AM one morning whether or not a baby that is moving all of the time in utero is a baby that NEVER sleeps! Anyone have any thoughts? He seems to be awake ALL of the time! I had pretty much figured out Hadlea's schedule towards the end. She moved alot around 11PM, 7AM and after lunch. And that was her longest wake periods after she arrived. Maybe I just need to give baby boy some time to get his schedule down?!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Hadlea!

3 years ago on December 8th, Justin and I went to my weekly doctors appointment. I assumed it would be like any other appointment. Get checked, no change, go home. But nope, my blood pressure was extremely high. They told me I needed to come back in two hours to be induced. I, of course, freaked out and told them I wasn't ready and I needed more time. We went back and forth and agreed on more time. At 6PM, Justin and I headed to the hospital. Nervous, Smiling, Crying, Laughing, on the verge of throwing up... We honestly had no idea how we were feeling! But one thing we were sure about, we were definitely ready to be parents!

On December 9th at 8:52 PM, we welcomed the greatest blessing, Hadlea Easton. It doesn't matter how I would have described her if I would have had a chance to pick my own, I could have never asked for anything more perfect. God knew exactly what he was doing when he gave us our daughter! She is THE most perfect thing EVER! She is loving, sassy, sweet, hardheaded, soft hearted, stubborn, etc. There are so many adjectives I could use to describe her. She is just Hadlea. And there isn't another girl out there like her!
Hadlea is TALL and SKINNY! Seeing how I was one fat baby, she definitely gets it from her daddy! Ha! She is about 28 pounds and over 3 feet tall.

She is the pickiest eater ever! {I am already praying her brother is a MUCH better eater! Ugh!} She loves chicken and fish sticks and doesn't stray much further!

Her favorite candy is suckers, starburst and ANYTHING sour.

She LOVES pink and has days where she will not wear something if it doesn't contain pink! Thankfully these days, almost all girls stuff has some type of pink!
She prefers watching Barney over anything else.

She is a master at the iPad. How in the world do they learn to run it so young?!

She is VERY motherly to her babies. She has 3 she plays with on a regular basis. 2 girls, Mola and Kimla, and 1 boy, Charlie. We have NO idea where she came up with any of those names! Like not one single clue!
Up until the last week, she has refused to say she is having a brother. If you mentioned she was having a brother she would scream and cry, "I not want a brother. I want a sister. No more boys allowed"! And when I mean cry and scream, I totally mean it! She is a bit dramatic! Thankfully, this past week she has started coming around to the idea!

Hadlea is FUNNY! She says THE funniest things I have ever heard. I am really not sure where she comes up with half of it. I don't consider myself really 'witty', but her daddy is. So I am thankful she got some of his personality! And I mean only 'some' of it. I couldn't handle the two of them together for life! :-)
And just a few stories that have come up with lately. And for the record, NO.. some of these are not my proudest parenting moments. I will let you choose those for yourself...
  • She received the go fish game for her birthday. I was trying to teach her the difference between the 2 and the 5. She knows the 5, but could not get the 2. After getting annoyed, I said, "Hadlea this is a freakin' 2!" And yes, I said freakin' to my 3 year old. But guess what?! She learned it and now calls it the freakin' 2! Whatever it takes, right?! ;-)
  • To reveal the gender of our boy to our families, I bought her a boy baby. I didn't look at it before buying it. I actually sent Justin to Toys R Us to pick it up. Come to find out, the baby boy has actual boy 'parts'! Gigi and I were playing with her one day. We were taking off the clothes and she looks at it. I said, "is your brother going to have parts like that?". She says, "yes. my dad has a big tail and my brother will have a small tail." And by tail, you know exactly what I mean! Yall, I couldn't make this up if I tried. I am pretty sure my mom and I laughed for a solid 20 minutes!
  • Hadlea is a nose picker. She is constantly picking her nose and is ALWAYS getting into trouble for it. {anyone have a way to break it? gross!} We have now told her Santa will not bring her presents if she keeps picking her nose. A few days ago, she was playing with Christmas stickers and her Gigi starts singing to her, "He's making a list and checking it twice; gonna find out who's" and Hadlea says, "who's picking their nose?". Again, mom and I LOST it!

I ran across a 3 year old questionnaire a while back, and I had been saving it. Hadlea didn't come up with anything SUPER funny, but I think she does LOVE Barney! :-)

phone dump

We have been so busy lately. It seems like every night we have 3 or 4 things to do, and we have to pick and choose what we need/want/have to do! I LOVE this time of year, but it sure is tiring!

Just a few pics to capture what we have been up to...

My nephew had a band concert. The kids were just too cute!
My sweet nephew and baby girl!
Hadlea ready to go see her cousins!
Hadlea with a side pony. She looked so old!
My sleeping babies!
Reading books before bed!
Hadlea has been staying at home with me when I don't have any meetings. She has done great playing along... crafting, playing babies, playing in the backyard, watching Santa online, etc.
Getting ready for bed with her bear!
The new treat master.
Beg. Shake.
Hannah and Hadlea at the Christmas train!
My sweet baby boy wanting some lovin' before we get out of bed each morning!
Hadlea wanted some pink and purple nail polish.
Hadlea's crafting.
This is usually the face I get these days!
We jumped on the felt tree band wagon! Hadlea loved it! I told her to show it to me and her inner Vanna came out! Ha!
It has been so nice here each day. We have been on many walks, even going to the ponds and throwing rocks!
Hadlea got some balloons so I practiced my balloon animals and flowers. I guess I atleast have a fallback incase I need a future job! Just don't ask me for too many options! :-)
The double stroller I was wanting was onsale on black Friday so we got it ordered. We took it for a walk the other day just to make sure we liked it. I guess it wasn't too bad since Berkley wanted to jump in!
I have been looking for a new duvet cover. Gigi, Had and I stopped by Renovation Hardware to look at their stuff, and Hadlea jumped right in and decided to take a nap with her Mola baby!

play house and baby boy's gifts

Hadlea's big birthday present from Justin and I and her grandparents was a playhouse. We had a playhouse growing up, and I remember spending hours upon hours playing in it!

When we first started talking about a playhouse, I was thinking about a small little house. But once I mentioned it to Justin, the house started growing! ;-) He has a friend that is a home builder, so he talked to him about building one. I found one I liked, and they built the same one. We need to get it stained, do a few things to the inside, and Justin needs to run electric. But so far... she LOVES it!
It even has a loft!
Getting her babies all ready to head outside.
Off they go to get some lunch in the playhouse!
Since we were revealing our baby boy, Gigi and Amanda were sweet enough to think of him! Although, they didn't know it was a him! Gigi did what we did for Amanda and Alan's gender reveal, she ordered boys and girls outfits. I am definitely loving the idea of having boys clothes around our house! And can you tell our favorite sports team? :-)
