3 years ago on December 8th, Justin and I went to my weekly doctors appointment. I assumed it would be like any other appointment. Get checked, no change, go home. But nope, my blood pressure was extremely high. They told me I needed to come back in two hours to be induced. I, of course, freaked out and told them I wasn't ready and I needed more time. We went back and forth and agreed on more time. At 6PM, Justin and I headed to the hospital. Nervous, Smiling, Crying, Laughing, on the verge of throwing up... We honestly had no idea how we were feeling! But one thing we were sure about, we were definitely ready to be parents!
On December 9th at 8:52 PM, we welcomed the greatest blessing, Hadlea Easton. It doesn't matter how I would have described her if I would have had a chance to pick my own, I could have never asked for anything more perfect. God knew exactly what he was doing when he gave us our daughter! She is THE most perfect thing EVER! She is loving, sassy, sweet, hardheaded, soft hearted, stubborn, etc. There are so many adjectives I could use to describe her. She is just Hadlea. And there isn't another girl out there like her!
Hadlea is TALL and SKINNY! Seeing how I was one fat baby, she definitely gets it from her daddy! Ha! She is about 28 pounds and over 3 feet tall.
She is the pickiest eater ever! {I am already praying her brother is a MUCH better eater! Ugh!} She loves chicken and fish sticks and doesn't stray much further!
Her favorite candy is suckers, starburst and ANYTHING sour.
She LOVES pink and has days where she will not wear something if it doesn't contain pink! Thankfully these days, almost all girls stuff has some type of pink!
She prefers watching Barney over anything else.
She is a master at the iPad. How in the world do they learn to run it so young?!
She is VERY motherly to her babies. She has 3 she plays with on a regular basis. 2 girls, Mola and Kimla, and 1 boy, Charlie. We have NO idea where she came up with any of those names! Like not one single clue!
Up until the last week, she has refused to say she is having a brother. If you mentioned she was having a brother she would scream and cry, "I not want a brother. I want a sister. No more boys allowed"! And when I mean cry and scream, I totally mean it! She is a bit dramatic! Thankfully, this past week she has started coming around to the idea!
Hadlea is FUNNY! She says THE funniest things I have ever heard. I am really not sure where she comes up with half of it. I don't consider myself really 'witty', but her daddy is. So I am thankful she got some of his personality! And I mean only 'some' of it. I couldn't handle the two of them together for life! :-)
And just a few stories that have come up with lately. And for the record, NO.. some of these are not my proudest parenting moments. I will let you choose those for yourself...
She received the go fish game for her birthday. I was trying to teach her the difference between the 2 and the 5. She knows the 5, but could not get the 2. After getting annoyed, I said, "Hadlea this is a freakin' 2!" And yes, I said freakin' to my 3 year old. But guess what?! She learned it and now calls it the freakin' 2! Whatever it takes, right?! ;-)
To reveal the gender of our boy to our families, I bought her a boy baby. I didn't look at it before buying it. I actually sent Justin to Toys R Us to pick it up. Come to find out, the baby boy has actual boy 'parts'! Gigi and I were playing with her one day. We were taking off the clothes and she looks at it. I said, "is your brother going to have parts like that?". She says, "yes. my dad has a big tail and my brother will have a small tail." And by tail, you know exactly what I mean! Yall, I couldn't make this up if I tried. I am pretty sure my mom and I laughed for a solid 20 minutes!
Hadlea is a nose picker. She is constantly picking her nose and is ALWAYS getting into trouble for it. {anyone have a way to break it? gross!} We have now told her Santa will not bring her presents if she keeps picking her nose. A few days ago, she was playing with Christmas stickers and her Gigi starts singing to her, "He's making a list and checking it twice; gonna find out who's" and Hadlea says, "who's picking their nose?". Again, mom and I LOST it!

I ran across a 3 year old questionnaire a while back, and I had been saving it. Hadlea didn't come up with anything SUPER funny, but I think she does LOVE Barney! :-)
